Philadelphia Tax Prep for Artists
Philadelphia Tax Prep for Artists is a collective of artists and art lovers who also have a knack for numbers and a desire to help other artists by dealing with the numbers so our clients can concentrate on their art. We know that doing tax returns can be a daunting thing, especially when you work multiple freelance jobs or have your own business. We work together to take the burden of preparing accurate tax returns off your shoulders, while making sure that you get every deduction you're entitled to and have the best possible tax outcome.

We work with artists and freelancers across the country, but our base of operation is the cuturally-rich city of sisterly love, Philadelphia. Although we work primarily with individual tax returns, we also have experience preparing business returns for LLCs, S Corps, and non-profits. We can prepare tax returns for every state in the country, and for the City of Philadelphia.

Who We Are

Amy is a dance and theater artist, educator, and facilitator. In addition to tax preparation, she provides financial well-being workshops, works with clients one-on-one giving financial advice, consults with arts organizations, and co-facilitates anti-racism sessions with co-facilitators of color. She was co-founder and co-director of Headlong Dance Theater until she left in 2019 to pursue freelance work. Amy trained everyone in this collective, and brought them together to serve artists and demystify/translate tax rules. She has experience doing bookkeeping and financial management for small and medium sized businesses, and preparing corporate, non-profit and partnership returns, but prefers preparing returns for individuals and single-member LLCs.

Maria brings over 20 years of project management experience for organizations such as Mural Arts Philadelphia, FringeArts, and The Historical Society of Pennsylvania to her work as a tax preparer for individuals and small businesses.
